Nuttvia French Toast

French toasts are known as pain perdu or ‘lost bread’ in France. It was a way of recycling old or ‘lost’ bread by turning it into a delicious treat we know now as the French Toast. More interestingly, did you know that French Toasts are very rarely served as a breakfast meal in France? They’re usually eaten either as a snack or dessert, which you you’d also be keen to do with this Nuttvia French Toast. It’s so good, eating it for breakfast just won’t do! Just thinking about it now will make you head into the kitchen: thick slices of brioche bread, soaked in a mixture of beaten eggs, milk, salt, Natvia, toasted in a frying pan, and served with your choice of fresh seasonal fruits and of course topped up with Nuttvia. The greatest thing about this recipe is that it’s for everyone! It can be your much needed mood boost in the middle of the day, or the centrepiece of your family’s Sunday brunch.  You can never go wrong with the Nuttvia French Toast, so go ahead and recreate this recipe now! And unlike its etymology, you won’t get lost in following this easy recipe. Don’t forget to pair it off with your favourite coffee or tea to complete the experience!

INGREDIENTS:

2 Egg

1 cup Milk

Pinch of Salt

1 tablespoon Natvia

¼ cup Butter

4 slices of Brioche

Nuttvia

1 cup Berries, frozen

Banana?

METHOD:

Preheat oven to 180C

Line a baking tray with baking paper.

Whisk eggs, milk, salt and Natvia

Heat butter in a frying pan over medium heat and then dunk the bread until covers, then fry on each side until golden. Transfer to a baking tray and bake for 5-10 minutes until puffed.

Plate up with Nuttvia slatherd in between the slices and fresh berries
