Nuttvia Chocolate Crackles

Take a walk down memory lane, to your childhood days when chocolate crackles were the dessert everyone was talking about! There was nothing better than coming home form school to this delicious, crunchy snack. Here’s good news: we’re making this choco-licious treat guilt-free with Nuttvia! This is absolutely a winner for anybody who is in the mood for a sweet and HEALTHY childhood throwback. It’s a fairly quick and easy recipe to follow, so there’s no trouble when your kids start requesting for these crackles (every week, maybe?). Plus, you don’t have to be a gru in the kitchen to create these! The baking aftermath is the best part too – indulging in all that yumminess Nuttvia style made with a (coco)nutty twist! These Nuttvia chocolate crackles are also a great snack to serve at or bring to a birthday party, enjoyed by kids of all ages, and if you’re lucky, there may be a couple left over for adults to enjoy, too. We know, you probably want to rush to the kitchen now to make these. Go on, SPREAD the GOOD news to everyone: “the chocolate crackles are coming!”

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup Nutvia

½ cup Cocoa powder

80g Butter

1 teaspoon Vanilla essence

4 cups Rice Puffs

½ cup Desiccated Coconut

METHOD

In a small saucepan over medium-low heat combine the Nutvia, butter, cocoa powder and vanilla essence. Stir continuously until the mixture has melted, taking care not to let it over cook.

Pour the Nutvia mixture into a bowl. Pour in the rice puffs and desiccated coconut, stir to coat.

When completely coated spoon into patty pans, pressing the mix firmly with the spatula.

Place into the fridge until firm, approximately 30 minutes

Saucepan, spatula, mixing bowl, patty pans, muffin tray x 2

Cook time: 20 minutes
